NMB’s latest Gateway for Parcel 10.0.45.65.14000 release marks a significant step forward in helping customers solve real-world challenges related to shipment security, reliability, and compliance—all while optimizing their parcel and LTL shipping operations from order entry to last-mile delivery within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain.

With this quarter’s release, we’ve added several carrier service functionalities that help shippers mitigate risk, meet strict delivery requirements, and proactively enhance customer trust.

How?

By integrating these advanced carrier features directly into the D365 ecosystem:

  • UPS Premier: A contract-based service which offers enhanced visibility and prioritization for critical healthcare shipments.

  • UPS Direct Delivery Only: A delivery mode that ensures packages are delivered exclusively to the intended recipient.

  • FedEx Priority Alert: A proactive monitoring and intervention service for sensitive shipments.

These features are designed to meet the growing demand for precision, reliability, and control in modern supply chain operations—providing shippers with the tools needed to SHIP SMARTER, FASTER. Developed in tandem with our robust Power Parcel shipping engine, this release enhances user access and configurability by enabling seamless setup of carrier-specific services directly within D365—eliminating reliance on external tools or manual processes.

Beyond carrier features, we’ve added robust functionality designed to improve international shipping workflows. New Export License Management data entities have been added to support compliance with global trade regulations, while enhancements to the Freight Forwarder address entry process allow sales and transportation teams to designate delivery addresses earlier in the order lifecycle.

What does this all mean for you?

In short, these latest D365 enhancements translate into faster shipping decisions, reduced errors, and improved customer satisfaction.

Let’s dive in.

More control, greater flexibility

With more options comes greater control—transforming a rigid system into a responsive and efficient shipping platform. We’ve added a new Carrier-Specific tab within Parcel parameters, which allows users to tailor default services—like UPS Premier or FedEx Priority Alert—based on shipment type and destination. We’ve also added a new 'Use Importer/Freight Forwarder as Delivery Address' toggle, which allows teams to set delivery details earlier in the order process—improving accuracy, eliminating manual edits, and ensuring every shipment stays on track.

UPS Premier service

Our solution now supports UPS Premier service, a tiered shipping solution (Silver, Gold, or Platinum) designed for critical healthcare and temperature-sensitive shipments. New functionality within D365 allows our customers to configure UPS Premier options directly from the Packing Workbench, streamlining setup and ensuring accurate carrier communication. A new Carrier specific tab in Parcel parameters includes an 'Enable UPS Premier Service' toggle, service-level options, and an 'Applicable to' field to define default usage by shipment type—all designed to provide greater control, reduce manual configuration, and ensure high-priority shipments are handled with precision.

USE CASE SPOTLIGHT: Pharmaceutical companies shipping temperature-sensitive medications or biologics require UPS Premier to ensure priority handling and real-time tracking. Upgrading D365 to support this service allows automated tagging of critical shipments, reducing risk and improving patient outcomes.

UPS Direct Delivery Only

Our D365 shipping solution now also supports UPS Direct Delivery Only, a specialized shipping service that ensures packages are delivered strictly to the address specified by the sender—eliminating the possibility of rerouting or redirecting by recipients or UPS drivers. This feature is ideal for high-value or sensitive shipments requiring secure, recipient-only delivery.

The functionality has been added to both the Sales order page and the Packing Workbench, allowing users to activate the service at the order or shipment level.

FedEx Priority Alert

We’ve added new FedEx functionality in the Packing Workbench WMS—enabling seamless support for FedEx Priority Alert, a premium, contract-based shipping service designed for high-value, time-sensitive, and temperature-sensitive shipments. This service offers 24/7 proactive monitoring, priority handling, and personalized support—ensuring your most critical packages arrive safely and on time.

To support this feature, the Delivery Confirmation Rules logic has been enhanced to include both FedEx Priority Alert and FedEx Priority Alert Plus options. Users can now configure these services directly within the Packing Workbench, with new fields for selecting alert levels and entering package content details.

Other notable enhancements:

  • DHL Express Proof of delivery documentation can now be downloaded directly from the Track Shipments page.

  • A new Export license validation log and approval process has been added, allowing authorized users to access detailed logs and approve exceptions without hindering the shipping process.

  • The Export License page now includes an ‘Exhausted’ status to manually flag licenses that exceed quantity or amount limits. Additional updates improve usability, including auto-populating the Country/Region field, renaming Reference to Internal Reference, and refining default behaviours for Item code and Effective Date—enhancing accuracy and control in export license management.

  • Manual shipment processing has been enhanced with improved weight calculation logic and performance updates. A new Gross weight column has been added to the Packing Lines section, applying item-level weight (including tare) to container totals. The Declared price field has been removed for clarity, with declared values now editable per item. These changes streamline shipment accuracy and improve page responsiveness.
